Retiree Doer's Award
The Oregon Chapter Retiree Doer’s Award recognizes a retiree who has an outstanding retirement life. This award is to be presented at the annual Oregon Chapter, IAWP Educational Institute/Convention. The award will be presented to an individual who has lived an active retirement life during the calendar year. The recipient will receive an individual plaque, appropriately inscribed. A permanent trophy with the recipient’s name and year of the award will be kept on display in the Oregon Chapter, IAWP display case. The chairperson for this award will be the Oregon Chapter, IAWP executive committee Retiree Representative.
Inspiration for proposing this award came from reflecting upon Rosalie Dumbeck’s life, after her death on October 29, 1990, while she was vacationing in Sydney, Australia. She, as an individual with multiple health problems, was determined to live an active, contributing life to the very end. It is proper that the Oregon Chapter, IAWP, recognize active retirees who live outstanding contributing retirement lives.
