The International Executive Board voted last year to change the focus of the International Legislative Steering Committee to “a legislative, educational program”. As a result, the practice of issuing “Action Memos” has been discontinued.

This decision by the Executive Board does not preclude chapters from doing advocacy. Rather it puts the responsibility on each chapter to determine the process for identifying and tracking legislative issues that may be important to members specific to their state or region, to select those issues the chapter or member may wish to advocate, and to recommend the procedure used to connect with legislators and other elected officials.
